2 am.

well, i'm writing this in the wee hours, between painful but somewhat sporadic contractions
that have been going on for quite a while now.

looks like this baby may be ready to join our family
in the immediate future,
so if you don't hear from me soon,
this post will show up first thing monday morning
it's likely that
things have progressed
and we are off
to see
the "docker" at the "osital" as little m says.

p.s. i forgot how much contractions hurt. kind of a lot.
and oh, they still haven't even gone super crazy yet.

p.p.s. any last gender or name predictions?

  1. wow, how exciting. It is scary that I've never met you but I've been checking in to see if your precious new bundle has arrived yet. All the best and I hope that you're holding the little one really soon. And yep, those contractions hurt but just breathe and remember that every contraction puts you one step closer to meeting the new bub.

  2. Looking forward to a good update soon! I also have never met you, but have followed your blog for a year or so now. I am friends IRL with Adam & Sarah, and found your blog through theirs, btw. ;) I predict a boy, around 8 pounds, and no idea on the name, so I will go with..... Ethan. Good luck!!

  3. i said monday and a boy and i am sticking with it, although i am changing my name idea from josiah to zambia. praying for you!!

  4. I am praying for a speedy and minimally painful labor. And of course for a healthy mama, and a healthy baby who is a good sleeper and a good nurser. I don't have any name predictions, but I did want to recommend some tv for you. We have been watching Better Off Ted on netflix on demand and, though I believe cancelled, it is an awesome show. Love it. Love you.

  5. Yay! Not for the pain, but for the imminent baby arrival!

Since there is no post today, I am assuming you are with the "docker" and the "osital" with your precious baby. Can't wait to read our updates!!!

  6. Hooray that now it's over and she's here! We love her name and can't wait to love her, too! Enjoy this sweet time!

  7. Oooh -- that last commenter had some inside knowledge! A girl, eh? And what's this great name of which I hear tell? CONGRATULATIONS!!! And Happy Big Sisterhood to M -- I'm sure she'll be a great sister. Massive hugs all around.

  8. Guess I should have mentioned that I am *notoriously* wrong with gender predictions... which I guess makes me pretty accurate if you're betting on what I *don't* guess, right? I was wrong on my guess with ALL THREE of my own kiddos. Anyway, we also have two girls, and their sister bond is wonderful to watch as they grow up together. Congrats to the entire family!

  9. Hooray! Hooray!! Come on, baby (Emily is sending directions on how to exit the building most efficiently...)

My prediction: Girl named Hope (based on your last post)

  10. It's a girl! Ruby Adelia Prinz was born at 6:23 this morning at 9lbs 7oz (i think i got the weight right...). Yeah! Congrats Matt and Sooz!!!! She's gorgeous and has lots of hair, just like her big sis!

  11. Welcome to this crazy world, Ruby. Enjoy the ride!

  12. I have a name request. Ruby adelia Prinz. Would that work? Congrats sooz! Way to go.

  13. oh congrats. That's wonderful. And 9 pounds - my goodness you looked good for carrying a decent sized baby. I hope that you're enjoying this special time and that Miss M is coping with the daunting big sister task.

  14. Hooray for the recently expanded little family. And hey, I guessed wrong on gender, day of arrival and name but i didi guess you would be blogging during labour!!!

  15. Welcome, Ruby!!!! (Gorgeous name!)

  16. Congratulations! Welcome to the world, Ruby! (great name!)

  17. Welcome sweet Ruby...the greatest name. be blessed.
